Joined the industry in 2019.

Liezel-René was born in Goodwood, Cape Town. She matriculated in the Top Ten of the class of 2014 at Brackenfell High School, while also being a Senior Council Member. She attended Stellenbosch University where she obtained her B Accounting degree in 2017 and her B Accounting Honors degree in 2018. During her time at Stellenbosch University, she also obtained a Golden Key Honor Society Award for her undergrad studies.
Liezel-Rene articled at Pricewaterhouse Coopers (a.k.a. PwC) (Worcester) from 2019 till 2021. She registered as a chartered accountant in 2022 and was appointed as a manager at the Centre of Excellence (remote) branch of PwC while staying in the extremely cold Sutherland, Northen Cape.
In October of 2022 Liezel-Rene joined GBG as a manager after her husband, Reverend Ruan Nieuwenhuizen, was appointed at DRC Somerset East. She helps to ensure the auditing is on standard and adhere to the regulations, and also help with the training of the trainee clerks.
Liezel-Rene enjoys being creative (painting, scrapbooking, making personalised cards), watching cooking shows and spending time with her little boy (which she expected when she started at GBG).
